About Mooring
A quiet harbour for difficult weather.
Mooring opened on Custom House Quay in 2010. The idea was simple: a calm, unhurried place where people could talk honestly and be taken seriously.

01 — Our story
Why we called it Mooring.
A mooring is where a boat ties up while the weather passes. It doesn’t fix the storm. It gives you somewhere steady to wait it out, take stock and get ready to set off again.
After eight years in NHS mental health services, Elin wanted to offer that kind of steadiness: time that isn’t rushed, rooms that feel like rooms rather than clinics, and therapists who stay with people for as long as they need.
Sixteen years later there are four of us, two rooms overlooking the harbour, and more people seen online than we ever imagined. The idea hasn’t changed.

03 — The rooms
Two quiet rooms above the harbour.
Soft chairs, natural light, a box of tissues and a kettle. Step-free access from the quay, and a private waiting area.

04 — What we promise
Three promises to everyone who comes.
01
We listen first
No forms to fill in before you’ve spoken to a person. Your first call is with a therapist, not a receptionist.
02
We go at your pace
You decide what we talk about and how fast. We review together every six sessions, and you can stop whenever you like.
03
We do it properly
Every therapist is accredited, insured, DBS checked and in regular clinical supervision. We follow the BACP and UKCP ethical frameworks.
05 — The team
The people you’ll meet
Take the first small step.
Book a free 15-minute call. No forms to fill in, no commitment — just a chance to ask questions and see how it feels to talk.
