Therapists

Four therapists, one quiet practice.

All accredited, all in regular supervision, each with their own way of working. Read about them here, or answer three questions and we’ll suggest where to start.

02 — Approaches

The ways we work.

Different approaches suit different people. Your therapist will explain theirs and adapt it to you.

Integrative therapy

Draws on several approaches to fit you, rather than fitting you to one model.

The relationship between you and your therapist is at the centre, with ideas from psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive work used as they help.

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy: practical, structured, focused on the present.

Explores how thoughts, feelings and behaviour affect each other, and builds skills you practise between sessions. Strong evidence for anxiety, panic and OCD.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, for trauma and PTSD.

Uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps or tones) to help the brain process stuck memories so they lose their charge. Recommended by NICE for PTSD.

Person-centred

Trusts that you are the expert on your own life.

Warm, non-directive and deeply respectful: the therapist offers empathy, honesty and acceptance so you can find your own way forward.

Psychodynamic

Looks at how the past shapes the present.

Explores early relationships, unconscious patterns and what happens in the therapy relationship itself, to bring lasting change.

Gottman & EFT for couples

Research-based couples therapy.

Builds friendship, manages conflict and repairs trust (Gottman), and helps partners understand the emotional cycle they get stuck in (EFT).
